What Can You Tell Me Today?
Stories to help children talk about themselves
Elizabeth Maùti
Helping children, from the earliest years of life, to talk about themselves, their thoughts and emotions is important not only to get to know and understand them, but also to give them the opportunity to express themselves effectively (and less stressful, compared to crying and tantrums!), to understand what they are feeling, to develop a calm and positive attitude toward their moods, and to build a completely open and trusting relationship with their parents. In this book the narrator is Miagolina, a lively, imaginative and sensitive 4-year-old girl, a bit like all children. She talks about the things she likes, her fears and desires, and asks many questions that invite young readers to tell in turn. The text is aimed at parents of preschoolers as well as their grandparents, uncles, educators, etc.
