Game Put Yourself in My Clothes
The "Put Yourself in My Clothes" game is an interactive and educational experience designed to help children develop greater empathy and understanding of emotions, both their own and those of others. Through observation, identification and discussion of emotions in various contexts, participants are guided on a journey of emotional discovery and social awareness.
Main components:
Game Board: A sturdy board measuring 15x31 cm serves as the base for the game, on which the various components are displayed and organized.
Illustrated Situations: 10 detailed illustrations depict different social scenarios and emotional contexts. Each situation is designed to reflect common experiences, encouraging players to identify with the characters.
Characters: 15 tiles with different characters offer a variety of figures that children can identify with, expanding the range of emotions and reactions they can explore.
Emoticons: 10 emoticons are used to express a wide range of feelings, facilitating children's recognition of emotions visually and intuitively.
Associative Cards: The cards guide children in matching situations, characters and emoticons correctly, based on the emotional context and reactions of the characters.
Educational goals:
Emotional Recognition: Children learn to identify various emotions, associating them with corresponding facial expressions and contextualizing them in appropriate situations.
Empathy: By identifying with characters and their situations, children develop empathy, understanding how certain circumstances can affect a person's feelings.
Verbal Expression: The game encourages children to express and describe feelings, both their own and those of others, helping them develop language and communication skills.
Socialization: By interacting with other players, children learn the importance of collaboration, discussion and sharing their emotional perspectives.
How to play:
- Players observe a situation illustrated on the game board.
- They discuss how the characters might feel in that specific situation, based on contextual clues and facial expressions.
- Choose from the emoticons the one that best represents the mood of each character.
- Use association cards to correctly match characters, situations and emoticons, confirming or re-evaluating their initial hypotheses.
The game ends when all players have discussed the various situations and reached a consensus on the appropriate emotions for each scenario. "Put Yourself in My Clothes" is not just a game, but a powerful tool for educating children about emotional understanding, social awareness and empathy, skills that are critical to their personal and interpersonal development.
