Express Your Emotions
"Express Your Emotions" is an educational game that uses a unique and interactive approach to help children explore and understand the broad spectrum of human emotions. Through the use of a robotic character, who cannot feel emotions in the same way as humans, participants are guided on a journey of emotional exploration, learning the importance and uniqueness of feelings and how they affect interaction with others.
How the game works:
Robot Interaction: Players are introduced to the concept that the robot wants to learn to understand and express emotions. Being a machine, it needs assistance to identify and imitate expressions of emotions.
Using the Cards and Roulette: The cards illustrate various emotions, each visually represented and/or described to facilitate understanding. The roulettes are used to select a specific emotion or situation to discuss or represent during the game.
Expression and Identification: Participants take turns using the roulette cards and directions to express an emotion, while other players must identify it, often mimicking the expression or discussing what the character might be feeling in that specific situation.
Discussion and Reflection: Each round provides an opportunity to discuss various emotions, how they manifest, how we perceive them, and how different situations can elicit different emotional reactions in people.
Educational goals and benefits:
Empathy and social skills: Players learn to put themselves in the shoes of others, understanding that people feel and show emotions in different ways, developing sensitivity and communication skills.
Emotional intelligence: Promotes self-awareness and emotional regulation, helping children recognize their own and others' emotions and manage emotional responses appropriately.
Respect, Equality, Solidarity and Inclusion: Emphasizes the importance of accepting and respecting the feelings of others, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment in which every emotion is valid.
Vocabulary and verbal fluency: Encourages participants to explore and use richer, more descriptive language to express their feelings, thereby improving language and communication skills.
